UK Autumn Statement

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt, today announced a series of changes to fiscal policy in his
Autumn statement. Some of the main announcements were: In terms of personal taxes, a reduction to the threshold at which the top 45p rate of income tax is paid from £150,000 to £125,140. Cuts to thresholds on allowances were also announced for dividend income (reduced from £2,000 currently to £1,000 next year) and capital gains tax (reducing from £12,300 level currently to £6,000 next year, and £3,000 in 2024).
